im sweatin' and pantin' just lookin' at it!

though i sit in my central a.c. apt during this ferocious heat wave, i find myself sweating, panting, looking at Sandra Backlund's newest collection entitled "In No Time." Backlund is my favorite Project Runway designer (actually, she won Britains' version of the show). Her signature style uses heavy wool collage knitting, creating intricate and masculine designs using feminine fabrics.

i'd be the belle of the ball if i could have one of her designs.

Qui Hao - Shanghai designer

Asia is booming with fashion designers and models, slowly yet surely creeping their way into the western fashion world. the new Shanghai is an epicenter for the avante-garde.
Qui Hao is one of Shanghai's most influential conceptually driven designers. His avante-garde work is highly sought after, a notable feat in a country driven by the prestige and status of international brands. (like LV, duh.) Trained at Central St. Martins in London (Christopher Kane is one of their current graduate darlings), his signature style consists of deconstructed fashion, held together by innovative fabrics.
